High Demand Skills
Graduates of this intensive program will be trained for entry-level positions as medical administrative assistants and billers/coders. Those who earn the CPC-Apprentice status, by passing the AAPC Coding Exam, will be candidates for entry-level medical billing or coding positions. Skills taught include:

Medical Billing & Coding & Office Adminstration Graduates Pursue Many Career Paths
- Medical Front Desk associates greet patients, answer telephones, call patients to schedule and confirm appointments, and enter information into a computer.
- Secretaries make the office run smoothly. They schedule, organize, file, and communicate information by phone calls, mail, and e-mail.
- Medical Billers make sure patients are billed correctly and on time. They can work in medical settings, or at billing companies. Billers talk on the telephone with patients and insurance companies to help prepare invoices.
- Medical Coders assign codes to treatments and procedures. They can bill and code, or work together with a biller.
Internship
You will choose a 120-hour Medical Billing & Coding or Medical Office Internship in a healthcare setting matched to your interests. Students get real life experience, and earn a positive reference for future employment. Students may also receive an offer of employment at the internship site.
Past students have completed internships in doctors’, chiropractors’ and physical therapy offices. Other sites include community health centers, hospitals, urgent care settings, nursing homes, and billing and coding companies. Day students begin the internship immediately after the last class day. Evening students often begin a daytime internship during the last weeks of class.
Program Length & Calendar
The Medical Billing & Coding/Office Administration program is completed in 30 weeks of day classes or 63 weeks in class plus 12 weeks of internship. For more information, please contact MTTI about the next class start date.
Faculty & Staff
MTTI instructors are highly experienced health and administrative professionals that meet the standards of approval by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Division of Proprietary Schools and the ACCSC (the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.) MTTI Instructors and Staff work together with Career Service Specialists to assist students in pursuing their career goals.
Diploma
Graduates who successfully complete the 900-hour program will receive a Medical Billing & Coding/Office Administration Diploma. Each of MTTI’s programs has been approved by the Massachusetts and Rhode Island state education agencies, and the ACCSC (the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.)
